We’re delighted with this kitchen and family room in a Georgian country house.
T&T have taken pleasure adapting this lovely period property. Commissioned to sympathetically enhance the space, this whole house project also included the sitting room, study and library.
What we did
Originally two rooms, the client asked for a kitchen and family room with an open feel and plenty of room to entertain.
Combining two rooms gave us a large space to work with and we suggested keeping most of the furniture away from the beautiful original sash windows.
Cooking and Entertaining
The space created allowed for a large island giving ample storage and preparation area, perfect for inclusion when entertaining. To match the style of the property we designed and installed a false chimney with storage over the Aga giving the room focal point and also a large built in pantry cupboard.
For the Family
At the other end of this now spacious room we designed shallow full height cabinets either side of the chimney breast. One with folding doors to house (and hide) a television and a matching cabinet to store glass and china. With lots of room for sofas, this room is equally at home entertaining the family as a group of guests.
